Timing and holiday

I got a nice email from Nicole today, saying that if all goes well, we can pick up our puppy in the first week of August. Wooohooo!!! (Well, of course it takes about a month before we are sure that Dazhitaa is pregnant and that she has enough puppies for us to get one, but still... Wooohoooo!!!)

Right... the only problem is, that we have booked our holiday and that we will be gone from 2 - 12 August. Bugger! I started thinking about changing our hotel reservation today and I discussed it with Reto. He said it would be no problem for him to go on holiday a bit earlier. So tonight, I sent an email to our hotel and I have asked them if we could come earlier, so that we will be home in the first week of August. Fingers crossed that it will all work out!
If we could really go 2 weeks earlier, I would feel a lot more relaxed and happy, I can tell you that! :D

Dazhitaa did it!!

I just got a text message from Nicole! Dazhitaa mated today!! YAY!!! Not with Alsan, but with Arie, from Under The Red Sky. Here is a link to his website. He is a beautiful dog, Dutch Champion of 2007! We are impressed!

We are very happy that it worked out today! We are another step closer to our toller puppy.

The next phase is of course: waiting. LOL! Waiting until the ultrasound.

Patience

It is one of the things that I don't have much of... patience. So after waiting and waiting (since Tuesday) for news from Nicole, I couldn't take it anymore today and this evening, I sent her a text message. And kindly, she replied. The mating hasn't happened yet, they are still waiting and according to the vet (that she visited last week Thursday), it should happen tomorrow! YAY!

For us, it is actually good that it is happening a couple of days later than we expected. This way, there is more of a chance that the pick up date is closer to the end of our summer holiday.

So... everybody: please keep your fingers crossed tomorrow and Sunday!

No news yet

One of these days it should happen... I am checking my email every 5 minutes or so, to see whether I have a message from Nicole, LOL! Eventhough she is probably still in Holland with Dazhitaa. I am keeping everything crossed and hope it goes well. May she get pregnant with many bitches, LOL! :D

My mother is almost as bad as I am. Everytime I talk to her, she asks me: "Did you hear anything from the breeder yet?!" As if I wouldn't call her the minute I have any news, hehehe!!

Okay, so basically I have nothing to say here today. I just needed to vent my impatience a little. It is on my mind all day long. Eventhough it is Lorenzo's birthday today! My youngest one... NINE!! Oh shock!

Exciting times

I talked to Nicole (our breeder) on the phone tonight. Dazhitaa is doing fine, she is not grumpy or anything. (I had to ask.. after all... lots of women are grumpy when they go through the same! ;-) )
They are seeing a vet on Thursday afternoon, who will hopefully tell them when Dazhitaa will be ready to mate. And somewhere during the Easter weekend they will drive to Holland. Nicole expects the mating to take place either Monday or Tuesday. Would still be cool if it would be Tuesday, Lorenzo's birthday! :D
Next time I hear from Nicole it will be after the mating. Woahhhh... exciting times!!

Will it happen on Lorenzo's birthday?

The mating date is getting closer and closer... and so is Lorenzo's birthday! (25th of March) It would be cool if the mating would happen on his birthday!

More names

I am still searching for a good name for a dog. A few days ago, I came up with "Tango". I like the sound of it and I associate the name with passion, movement and light-footedness (I am not sure that is an English expression, LOL!). Reto likes it, the kids didn't like it at first. But when I came up with "Dante" afterwards and asked them which one sounded better, they both said "Tango!". So maybe they only need to get used to it. ;-)

For a bitch, the name is already decided on. It will be "Mindy". Reto is the only one who isn't too fond of that name yet, but we out-voted him! :D
