8 Months old

8 months ago since Wesha was born. She has turned into such a beauty!

Today I have ordered a custom made harness for her, with her name stitched onto it and a matching collar and leash to it! It will be a present for my birthday! LOL! I ordered it HERE (German Website).

Jumping ditches

During our morning walk in Altikon last Saturday, I saw Wesha jump a ditch a few times. I have never seen her doing that before. It was worth a video!

Dirty Tollers

By chance, we met Cordula and Nituna during one of our walks yesterday. Long before we saw them, Wesha started to whimper and pull the leash and run around hectically. When we came to the top of the grape vine hill, I saw Cordula and Nituna. They were still far away. When we were close enough, we each let our dogs off the leash. Wesha immediately FLEW to Nituna, while Nituna was more reserved and waited for Wesha. But once they got together, they immediately started to play. And since it has been thawing here for a few days... everything is very wet and muddy... So after a while, our Tollers were hardly recognizable! (At least they were wearing different harnesses this time.)

Acrobatic Wesha

Incredible how cat-like Wesha can be at times! She jumped onto the window sill of an open window and stood on the ledge outside, like a cat! Now the window is on the ground floor, so not up high... however... under that particular window, we have a stairs leading down to our basement door! Reto managed to lift Wesha off the ledge before she decided where to jump to. Pfew! Silly dog!

Lenny and Wesha

This afternoon, we went for a walk with Barbara and Lenny. The weather was horrible. Lots of wind and rain. Making the old snow very slippery. Wesha is finally big and strong enough to play with Lenny. Lenny was holding back very nicely, and especially in the beginning, he would lie down and let Wesha jump all over him. Wesha just didn't seem to understand why he would enjoy lying around when he could have been running with her. LOL!

New toy and a play date

Today was a busy day for Wesha. In the morning I took her to a dog shop in Schaffhausen. It wasn't that special for her at first because she had to wait in the car while I did some shopping. However... the owner of the shop has 2 dogs and after I finished shopping, we let the dogs play on a field right next to the shop. Wesha enjoyed running and playing with a Malinois and a labrador.

Wesha's new toy:

In the afternoon Wesha had a play date with Nituna. I hadn't seen Nituna for a long time. She is so cute! And her temperament matches that of Wesha. While Cordula and I walked, Nituna and Wesha played and ran together. It was so much fun. Although Nituna and Wesha look different (Wesha is bigger and lighter of colour than Nituna), it was still hard to keep them apart sometimes. Especially since they were wearing the same harness.:D

Here are some pics:

We tried to call our dogs to us. And while Nituna came to me, sat down and looked up at me nicely... (isn't she a beauty?!)

... Wesha was doing the same, but with Cordula! :D We sure had a good laugh about that.

And then Cordula managed to get the undivided attention of both Wesha and Nituna:

Back to school

Waiting for the course to start:

Wesha went back to school again today. Not with me, but with Tina. They went to the "Young & Dog" course of the same trainer that we went to last Friday. There was only 1 other girl with her dog in the course. The beginning was a bit difficult, because Wesha had just so much energy. She pulled Tina upside down once! But after a while it went better and Wesha was concentrating nicely. Tina was doing really well and she enjoyed being "the boss" for once. She will go to this course every Wednesday afternoon from now on.

Yesterday, we finally saw some sun again. That was the first time in 2009! Wesha enjoyed it along the Rhine.

New school

Last Friday, I took Wesha to a new dog school. We haven't been training in a group anymore since she finished the "young dog course", a long time ago. I really want Wesha to listen better, and I had called various trainers and dog schools, but they were either fully booked or they would start a new course mid February.

This new school is run by 2 young women. They only started the school in November last year and therefore their groups are still very small. They also have a "Teen & dog" course, Tina will go there on Wednesday for the first time.

I am glad that we have finally started to train again. I still have a lot to learn and so does Wesha.

More kisses

During a kiss attack on Reto:

When I called her name:

Oh yammie.... Reto's nose tastes good!

Wesha loves oma

First time on oma's lap:

Huge kiss attack:

My parents have been staying with us for a couple of days and as you can see, Wesha loves my mum ("oma" for our kids). And luckily, my mum loves Wesha too. Wesha also loves opa (my dad) and I think that is mutual too. But oma was sitting in "Wesha's" chair and therefore, Wesha was on her lap. :D

To be honest, I think Wesha loves all people... I have never seen her insecure with or afraid of people. But I am still glad that there was a definite "click" between my mum and Wesha.

Totally relaxed:

The last pics from 2008

Wesha wanted to do some karaoke too

So I finally gave her what she wanted

When Reto and I are kissing, she always wants to join in

During our New Year's Eve walk (before midnight), we finally took a picture of all 5 of us. This is the first one since we have Wesha!!
