Wesha has been spayed this morning. I took her to the vet at 08.30 and she became an injection with something to make her groggy (she is always very excited at the vet's). Within seconds I could see her calming down and after a while she sat and then lay down. After a few minutes she got up, but she could hardly stand. Shortly afterwards, the vet came to get her.
At 11.30, I called the vet and was told that everything went fine, Wesha was waking up, but still very groggy. I could pick her up if I wanted to. Of course I wanted to! So Reto and I went to pick her up. We took an old t-shirt of Lorenzo with us. That way, Wesha doesn't have to wear one of these "lamp shades" to prevent her from licking the wound.
The vet showed us the x-rays that have been made of her hips and elbows. They looked fine, but we have to await the official "verdict". That may take a week or two.
Since we got home, Wesha has been in her crate. She had her eyes open for a long time, but now she is sleeping. I let her wee in the garden a few minutes ago. She walked a few steps and after she relieved herself, I took her back in to sleep some more.

The vet gave us some painkillers and a light antibiotic for the next few days. We will have to keep Wesha on the leash for at least 10 days. No running, walking stairs, jumping or playing. I guess we will do lots of brain training with her, to keep her happy.

glad all went well, she looks really sorry for herself
Ach wat ziet ze er zielig uit. Hopelijk gaat het snel wat beter.
