BARFing

BARFing is much easier than I had envisioned. When we picked up Wesha on the 3rd of August, Nicole gave us frozen meals for about one week. All I had to do was take food for one day out of the freezer and feed it to Wesha three times a day. The fourth meal needed a bit of preparation, because it was minced meat or organ meat and I had to blend it with vegetables, oil, alg-powder etc. But that is done in 5 minutes.

In the mean time, Wesha gets only 3 meals a day. One meal consists of chicken throats (if that is the right expression in English... in German it is called "Hühnerhälse"), then she gets a meal with meat/vegetables or fruit and various additives and one meal is a bone with some meat on it. Every once in a while I give her some yoghurt with fruit, she likes that too.

Last week, I had to make meal sized portions of about 10kg of chicken throats, meaty bones, organ meat and minced meat. Each portion in a little plastic bag, label it and put it in the freezer. It was quite some work, but now we have meals for Wesha for a while.
