Wesha was a bit insecure in the very first minute but then she started to enjoy the walk. She was curious and sniffing. Until we got to a fire hydrant... that was a big scary thing for her and she started barking at it. I kept on walking and she followed me. When I got close to the fire hydrant, I went to it, touched it and talked to it and showed Wesha that it was nothing to be scared of. She was really good and came to have a look and sniff a bit too. She wasn't scared any more.
I didn't have Wesha on a leash during our walk and sometimes she would stay really close to my feet and sometimes she would go to the right or left to sniff the grass. Sometimes she ventured out ahead of me. But she regularly checked on me and came running to me. To be praised of course!
After a while I saw a man with a small dog coming up ahead of us. I picked up Wesha and when we got closer, I asked if I could safely put her down. The man told me that his dog was old and that he/she wouldn't do anything. So I put Wesha down and it was kind of funny, because she first walked to the man and his dog first came to me. Then Wesha came back and sniffed the bottom of his dog. She was not afraid at all. The dog pulled up its upperlip and walked a few steps away. Wesha stayed close and a bit later the dog pulled up its upperlip again and let out a low growl. Wesha totally got it and didn't push it. She walked back to the man and after getting some attention from him, we walked on. It was a very positive experience.
When we walked back to the car, we passed some high grass and Wesha was obviously tired and decided to rest a little. She just lay down. LOL! Luckily, we were close to the car.
I gave her a goodie in the transport box in the car, but she was still very vocal. It will take a while for her to get used to that too, I guess. I will repeat this the next couple of days. And hopefully after a while, she will be happy when she sees that we are going to take the car somewhere.

You're getting great photos! Love the one of her walking away on the path. :)
So how does Reto feel now that she's here??
Thank you, I love the one where she looks up at me. You can really see how much she was enjoying it.
Reto loves her, of course! :D He is the biggest softie in the world. Especially with kids and animals. That is why I have to do most of the training... he would spoil her too much!
LOL.
Love the pics and your stories. I am catching up all the posts I missed during last week.
Thanks, Elena. I am glad you are enjoying my posts and pics. :)
