Wesha is home!

We were at Nicole's at 12.15 this afternoon. Wesha was the last puppy to be picked up and it was oddly empty in the house and the garden. Nicole and I sat down to do the paperwork and then she gave us food for the coming week and before we knew it... it was time to take Wesha with us.
Before we left, Nicole took a pic of us with Wesha. (A family of 5 now!)

In the car, we put Wesha in a cardboard box at my feet. But it didn't take long or she was sitting on my lap. She was howling and barking and whimpering for the first 40 minutes of the drive home. She also tried to climb on my shoulders all the time. But then she slept for 10 minutes, whimpered a bit more, slept a bit more and then she went back down into the cardboard box and slept for the rest of the trip.

When we got home, I carried her into the garden, where my parents were waiting too. (My parents were all "oohs" and "aaahs", my mum said she was much prettier even than on the pics!) She pee'd and started running around in the garden. I fed her right then and there from hand and she ate very well (and quick, she basically only swallowed... Nicole told me she would do that, otherwise I might have been shocked, LOL!) She was still very vocal. When we went inside, she wasn't going slowly either. She had quite a quick pace and she "commented" a lot.

(My parents left to drive back to Holland after a while)

I was glad (especially for Wesha) when she finally fell asleep for a while. It is a stressful day for her. After her sleep, we discovered a tick on her! It must have been there for a while, because it was considerably larger than a pin's head. But it was in such a stupid spot (right under her "armpit"), that we could get her to keep still enough to take it out. After a while we gave up and decided to try again later.

After our dinner and another nap for Wesha, we tried again. This time, Tina was feeding her bits of "Frolic", and that distracted her so much, that I could hold her while Reto tried to get the tick out. But the tick was stubborn. We only got the body and not the head out. What a pain. I hope it will work itself out and I will make sure to show it when we have an appointment with the vet.

Wesha is now having a looooong nap... that is why I can post here. I hope she will sleep during the night too. I will sleep in the living room, so that she won't be alone.

Here are some pics of today.

Wesha has been sleeping on the cold tiles in the kitchen and the hallway. But for tonight I will try to put her in the bench. Because that is where she will be sleeping in the future too. Wish me luck!
